My good friend just announced that she was pregnant with baby number three, and I was delighted to present her with a set of clothes and accessories from Bamboosa. Now, bamboo fiber clothing might not sound too great to you, but let me tell you, this stuff is soft, and the colors are bright and beautiful. Eco-friendly is the new buzzword and for good reason. With the Earth's resources dwindling as they are, we must find new ways to produce what we need without further damaging the planet's fragile eco-systems. Using bamboo to make fabric is, simply, ingenious.
What's more, the fabric is naturally antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, bacteriostatic, thermal regulating, and odor-free? I mean, what more could you ask for in a line of baby clothes (besides being soft and cute, and we've already established that)? There is absolutely no use of bleach or toxic dye-fixing agents, which you wouldn't want to put next to a baby's tender skin. The line includes blankets, hooded towels, washcoloths, bibs, booties, hats, and more.
You'll enjoy visiting the website, too, and reading the articles in the "Engage" section. I've considered bamboo flooring for our new home ever since I saw my friend's bamboo floor and learned about sustainable woods, and I found some great links at Bamboosa.com. I knew that bamboo was fast-growing, but that's about it. I learned that it can grow more than 45 inches in a single day, and that there are over a thousand species native to every continent except Europe and the poles. Bamboo makes more oxygen than trees! It's used for lots of things around the world, but this is the first time it's been used to make fabric products in the U.S.
In addition to the baby line, the company features clothing for men and women and offers free shipping on orders over $100. The company also donates a percentage of profits to conservation through One Percent for the Planet. What a great place to shop for the holidays!
