Since it's founding in the mid 90's, the natural health and beauty products company Canus has become a bestseller in the US and Canada. (they currently "employ" 2500 goats sourced from a cooperative of small family farms).

Although all of their products are gentle, and made for daily family use, they have also come out with an entire line created with children's delicate skin in mind.

Each product is pH balanced for their specific skin chemistry, using only the most gentle ingredients.

The founders of Canus decided on fresh goat's milk for its unique moisturizing and skin softening properties:

Goat's milk has twice the Vitamin A and 50% more vitamin B than cow's milk, as well as more calcium and protein . Even more importantly, it has a unusual molecular structure that allows for easy absorption, which makes it an ideal skin care ingredient. Higher absorption level= more effective moisturizing!

Canus uses no harsh astringents or alcohol in any of its products.

The Li'l Goats milk line includes soap, lotion, shampoo/body wash, lotion- based baby wipes, body butter and a zinc ointment.

Although the fragrance they use (their "signature" fragrance is a light scent that smells like freshly cut timothy) is quite pleasant, it is fairly strong in the baby wipes. The baby wipes are also a little less "wet" than other brands (which often use alcohol based ingredients), but proved still effective.

The shampoo/body wash is terrific! The shampoo is tearless, and works itself into a light foam that rinses off cleanly and quickly. The body butter is rich, but absorbs quickly. Both it and the zinc ointment helped cure a case of eczema and diaper rash.

The Li'l Goats Milk Petite Chevre (chevre means "goat" in french) line comes in full sized and trial sized versions. They have a lovely gift bag (both full and trial sized) which includes the products plus a cute embroidered washcloth. Their soaps have also been manufactured in fruit fragranced crayon shapes.

Canus doesn't utilize milk containing growth hormones and are strongly opposed to animal testing. All of their products are cruelty-free.

The Canus line is moderately priced and available in major drug stores, supermarkets, health food and specialty stores, as well as online: www.canusgoatsmilk.com.

MMMmmmmmmm..soft skin!
